In my life I am very passionate about getting a job so that I can take care of myself and maybe a family in the future, and treating others right. One of the key aspects of me is balance. I strive to be a balanced individual in many ways of life. I like to look at all sides and hear all views before I decide on what I want. I make this decision by using a combination of my emotions, gut feeling, and logic. My emotions make sure I have a purpose for why I make a decision or do something, my gut tends to right about decisions, and my logic keeps my emotions and gut in check.

My name is Jimmy. I'm an Engineering student at Virginia Tech. I'm 6'2" with short dark brown hair and blue eyes...too tall to be an astronaut (foiled again). I was born a California Raisin and lived in Livermore for the first 15 years of my life before my parents moved to northern Virginia. There I attended Brentsville District High School where I ran cross country and track. After I graduated my parents foolishly decided to move to southern New Jersey. I love partying with my friends, playing sports (racquetball, football), singing, dancing, hiking, and of course flirting. I'm all about music. I'll listen to anything but country. My favorite type of music is 70's and 80's so you'll sometimes see me strutting the afro wig and superfly 70's shirt. I am who I am. And one thing I've never been proficient at is describing who that is. I'm a bit of a nerd, a bit of a jock in ways. I love video games, and take every chance I get to play multiplayer games especially. I like to read, although I haven't had as much time as I wish. I actually spend a bit too much time on the computer, or watching movies and TV shows with friends and family. As for the jock part, I used to train at the Marine recruiting station back home, sort of because I had a crush on the boy I knew who was entering the Marines, and sort of because it feels rewarding to exercise, especially as rigorously as they did. I've fallen out of the habit, but I plan to resume this upcoming semester.
I love fun, and I'm a big cuddler. I'm a sucker for cuddling really. I'll admit, I don't like kissing as much as most people I know, but that doesn't mean I haven't practiced the art. I really like to make who I'm with happy.
I actually joined this site because I was referred to a bisexuality test on it. I do not believe it was as accurate as it could be. If I were to try and label myself, I would pick "pansensual, asexual, homoromantic." This is a current and fluid label, as I'm not entirely asexual, I just haven't had a sexual drive in a few months. I used to go as pansexual before then.

About me: Hmm...well i like to get out of the house and have fun. Go to local parks with my dogs. Small day hikes, but of course that requires a "partner in crime". Basically, I like to experience life to the fullest. Try out new experiences. New foods. New places around me. I am open to most anything that is legal, at least to give it a good shot. I am not a sensation seeker though, I just dont' want to find myself old and wrinkled and realize that I forgot to experience life while I could.

I am very nature -oriented but not an activist. I call myself a wanna-be tree hugger but it's not really accurate. More of a nature-attuned person. I feel very connected to the earth and all of it's living things. Plant *and* animal life. A lot of that is my intuitive nature- very sensitive to emotions and behavior around me in people and critters.

I am outspoken, blunt, straightforward. I can flirt and tease. In fact, love to tease and play around. But generally I'm not a silly giggly girl. Much more likely to give you my opinion and then let you do what you want with it.

I'd say I "think outside the box" but by saying that, well, aren't I being a cliche? LOL Let's just say I like to look at life a little differently. I am NOT one to do things the same way they've always been done or accept I can't do something just because no one has before.

That's pretty much me. In a nutshell. Completely imperfect but I try. I try to do what I believe in and not live my life as a hypocrite.

I've always tended to fall flat on my face when it comes to introductions. I'm constantly learning new aspects to my life, and i hope to never lose that. I love intelligent conversation. This includes anything that allows me to see deeper into a person beyond the surface, especially their thoughts and ideas on life, the pursuit of happiness, religion( or lack thereof), and philosophy. So OKC wants me to fill this sucker in to like one thousand words. This isn't an English paper in any way shape or form, but it now feels like a chore. I'm not one for ego masturbation to the level of one thousand words, and I am finding this quite difficult to fulfill.

I'm relentlessly geeky, unfortunately witty, and an all-around adorable nuisance looking for some stimulation, intellectual or otherwise.

Like Bartholomew Cubbins, I wear many hats. I'm a botanist, bicyclist, rock-climber, video-gamer, singer, chemist, mechanic, philosopher, activist, baker, gardener, role-player, renaissance man. I love learning, and am looking for more nifty things about which to geek out. Of course, all this dilettantism brings to mind Alexander Pope: "a little learning is a dangerous thing/drink deep or taste not the Pierian Spring", but I believe I can keep myself out of trouble... usually.

My name's David, I'm in my second year at Virginia Tech, and my favorite food is strawberries. Most of my favorite bands fall into the industrial music genre. I play video games on occasion. I love going to concerts, though I haven't been to many in awhile, and I'm a bit of a nerd sometimes.

I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I love going to movies and relaxing at home. I also love being active and hiking. I play and watch a variety of sports and keep things interesting all the time. There is no time for sitting around, so you may find me doing that pretty rarely.

I'm Nathan, born and raised in south-side Virginia, and a student at Virginia Tech. I guess I'm looking for just about anything. People in my area to go cause trouble with, grab a snack, or see a flick. I really am a rather laid back guy, taking problems as they come and go and trying not to make any concrete plans, preferring flexibility in any situation that can stand it. Religion doesn't bother me. Grew up with christian teachings, and just slowly drifted away. Not trying to rebel, or seek out alternatives, I just figured there were bigger things to worry about. I figure I'm going to live my life, be a good person, be human and all that, and if I can't get into somewhere nice after I die, then I probably didn't want to be there. We're all imperfect, so it's no use trying not to be. Do your best, do your thing, and everything should fall into place. Enjoy life.

But because of this view on life, nothing can get me down. I'm an optimistic. Things are never as bad as they could be. Even the most horrible experience could be made worse simply by adding a headache. and even then, I'm the guy with a bottle of Tylenol (the non-mold-smelling kind.

I am an African-American guy in college at the moment. I am very loyal and and will do anything to help my friends and family. I'm new at the online dating community, but it couldn't hurt to try. I generally work a lot, and with classes don't have a lot of free time. When I am able to pick my own activities, I love hiking, rock climbing and bouldering, traveling any place new, biking, or almost any physical activity. I love trying new things and am fairly open to trying anything people suggest! I am a very active person, and get very bored cooped up indoors. My idea of a perfect day would be getting into my car with my dog and friends and driving in a direction stopping whenever i see something that looks like It needs to be visited.

My goals in life, after I figure out my job situation after graduation, are to travel to every country on my list, learn to play the violin again, become a professional rock climber, compete in the Iditarod, win a triathalon, bike across the U.S, Backpack across Europe, thru hike the A.T., become a doctor, get a degree in architecture, professionally publish my artwork, build my dream house with my own hands, learn to fly a plane and successfully invest in the stock market.

Honestly, I am pretty awesome. I can make or fix just about anything mechanical or electrical. I love a challenge, if something is crazy-difficult I cannot help myself but try it out. I am a thoughtful person. I am good listener and I have a lot of tangentially relevant things to add to any conversation. I am also very careful not to try frame or force a conversation. Hey everyone. I am a quiet guy at first, if I get comfortable around ya, I get more open goofy, stupid, wierd, random. I am a lot of fun to be around. I am up for almost anything though sometimes it takes a bit more convincing. I am not the greatest looker, but hey, I have a personality...I hope. I enjoy almost anything.

This really doesn't have much to do with me. They are ephemeral factoids, which do little to describe the person. Asking someone to describe themselves in a few paragraphs is like asking a blind man to describe the color of the mountains just before sunset, or a deaf man the sound of a symphony.

So what can I tell you here? I read voraciously. I give good back rubs. I like cooking for people, but hate washing the dishes afterwards. I love the shapes and sounds of words, and the way that some words are always funny no matter how many times you hear them. I love how language and meaning are fluid. I love the image of the sun rising over the mountains, and the crisp smell of the air while it is doing it. I am simple and complex. I love how my computer does exactly what I tell it to, even when that has nothing to do with what I want it to do. I am a grouch at times. I think too much, and do too little at times.

Most other things are random or unimportant, and change largely without notice.

I'm still in Blacksburg for the time being but I'll be moving to Richmond at the end of the summer. I'm still not sure what I want to do with my life but I intend to have a good time while I'm trying to figure that out. My friends are very important to me, but that probably goes without saying. I love going out but I also appreciate staying in and havinig a fun quiet time as well.

Not really sure what to say here. I'm only here to meet new people, and recently discovered that the love of my life was in front of my face the whole time. Sometimes it takes someone shoving there foot in their mouth to truly get things started.

Instead of calling this section My Self-Summary, it should just say For Sale: haha. Anywho, I guess I will start with the basic stuff. I am currently attending VT and am studying psychology. I love movies and music. I have a beagle dog named Chance and a cat named Sammy. I also love all things sports, NFL, MLB, NBA, you name it. Some more abstract stuff is also in order I suppose. I can't gain weight despite a love for food, including carbs. I'm slowly but surely becoming more organized. When I find the time, I make art. I'm often quiet around people I don't know well. It surprises many to learn I've never been drunk or gotten high, but I did eat a mushroom growing not far from Jackson Pollock's grave.

OKCupid is dumb--the proof is in my personality "awards." I don't think most people I know would give me "more aggressive" and "less giving." If they did I'd punch them and steal their wallet.

My name is Gallo. No it's not my first name, but it'd be cool if it were. I'm a laid back college kid who likes to write, watch movies, and hang with friends. I've also been to a convention and plan to go to more. They're a lot more fun than people give them credit for. I'm relatively street and book smart. I like being outside, but I don't mind being inside either. I also don't mind on going on trips. Whether it be camping, another town, another country, etc. I just like seeing new sights and then people watch to see if they're different from my hometown. General consensus is that everyone elsewhere is better than my hometown. Excluding friends and family of course.

I'm an enormous geek. I play D&D. I'm currently learning to fight with a rapier with the Society for Creative Anachronism after deciding that Olympic-style fencing was a bit tame and constrained for my tastes. Video games are pretty sweet, but I don't really own any, so I'm limited in what I play. I read too many webcomics, and probably too many scifi and fantasy novels as well. Art, music, and poetry are long-time loves, though I consider myself to be, at best, mediocre at them.

I enjoy cooking, though I rarely have the chance for kitchen time, living in a dorm as I do. I also like sewing; recently I've been working on garb for SCA events. I don't have a machine, so almost anything I make is done by hand, but I like it that way, even if it's less precise. It's soothing. I do a little jewelry work from time to time as well, though that's kind of limited to periods when my desk is clean enough for me not to lose components on it...

I love trying new things, but I prefer not to do so alone.

I'm a junior at Virginia Tech majoring in English and Communication, (without the s haha). When I came to college I had a lot of ambition, but three years of class and homework has zapped it right out of me lol. Seriously, I love to read, write, listen to music, watch/ play all sports (im actually a fanatic), lift weights, among other random acts of living life. I really dislike self-summaries but I think I'm difficult to read, but easy to get along with. I'm very goofy, and always looking for a good laugh. All in all, a paragraph can't encapsulate my life story, so I'll pleasure the reader with brevity. :)

PS. On a side note, sometimes I may ask myself why in the hell did i join this site? lol...I guess the logical answer is that my ex girlfriend and i (we were together over two years) recently broke up so naturally I need to fill that void in my life somehow. I naturally reasoned that meeting new people would help me with this endeavour (British spelling). And because I'm already in the process of rambling (which i tend to do from time to time) and because I want to get my profile to 95 % complete I will say this: some of the questions on this website are absolutely ridiculous lol. I mean on some I can only shake my head and skip them lol. Either way, for me personally I think a great sense of humor is one of the more essential things in a relationship. For two people to truly enjoy one another's company for a prolonged amount of time they have to constantly make each other laugh. In other words, laughter is certainly the catalyst in any good relationship. I have ventured off into my philosophies about life but since its my profile that is alright I suppose. Haha, just for the sake of disclosure, I will say that when it comes to relationships I am very old-fashioned in the sense that I always open doors, and pay for meals and what not. It's just the way I was raised, and now its second nature. I have my fleeting moments of romanticism, but usually I joke around too much to be overtly this way. And to return back to the subject of my previous girlfriend, I certainly still care about her deeply, but I find the only way for me to move on is through the company and friendship of others. Also, I hate to dwell so I am going to live by my own tenets and move on to a different subject lol. Lets see, I think self-deprecating humor is essential to counter-balancing the diluted image us human beings tend to have of ourselves. On similar note, I have a strong distaste for politics and i'll just leave it at that. I am the shit at scrabble and I challenge anyone to a game. All in all, ping pong is what I was meant to do in life lol. I think i could take on Forrest Gump, seriously :D.. (I am now over 500 words) Now for some random tidbits: I consider myself a poet just because I am a lover of language and words in general. Although I think that the word "verbose" has to be the gayest adjective in the history of the English language. Hmmm, I am a gym rat of sorts, meaning that I try to workout every day. Also, I am a classic insomniac who sleeps about 3-4 hours a night. I think by the age of like 40 I am going to be soooo exhausted my body is just going to slip into a coma and sleep till I am about 80 lol. (then I'll be able to retire atleast) I live, eat, breath, and sleep sports. I live and die by the performance and success of the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers, Virginia Tech Hokies, UNC Tarheels, LA Lakers, and Tiger Woods lol. Stephen Donaldson, author of the Thomas Covenant series, has to be one of the most underrated writers of all-time. His ability to craft what I call the inverted metaphor is an absolute avatar of brilliance. And I dont care what anyone says, Creed is my favorite band of all-time and I am not even going to take the time the justify why I like them lol. More philosophies: to be cont'd at a date TBA. :D

I dont think I'm narcissistic enough to do this right but I'll try. I have a crazy german shepherd dog which I enjoy but he doesn't run my life like some pet owners. I enjoy spending time at home watching movies, playing video games or making a complicated meal but I also like to throw parties and hit the town. I'm not the kind of person to ask for help because I find pleasure in solving problems myself and learning about the intricacies of things. I enjoy motorcycling, snowboarding, biking, long walks, fishing (read: drinking at the river), swimming, reading etc.

I like blacksburg and work here full time. I own my own place, truck, and motorcycle and live with a few roomates to keep the expenses down so I can spend money on fun things. I'm not a fan of being poor or in debt so I'm prudent with my money. I can't handle someone who can't balance their money.

In a typical week I'll be at work 9-5 each weekday, have people over for movies at least one night, go to the gym once or twice, be at PK's on thursday, eat at el rods at least once, visit champs at least once, walk my dog every day, and be on facebook 10,000 times.

I'm Matt. I'm a tall, gangly, quiet nerd who's going to college for engineering. This is a mistake and you should not do this. Maybe I'll switch to film or some other useless major. Because there are lots of jobs there! I also think that I'm funny. Then again, lots of people don't care what I think. As in like, practically all of them. Six billion people, do the math. Wait, wait, I'm in engineering, so I guess I should be doing the math. Well actually a calculator should. I guess calculators don't make good dates, though. Even though they're good listeners. And it's easy to push all the right buttons.

I make comics occasionally, but they aren't all that great. I guess they're funny, but they're badly drawn. Let's be honest here.

Reading is a blast! I like classic novels! See the list for an in depth list of all the literary greats you had to read in high school! Music is da bomb! I even play the guitar a bit. A small bit. A, hey look everybody, I know 6 chords, bit! But not the kind of bit who tries to show you how they can totally play Stairway to Heaven, and then spend the next 4 hours saying "No wait, that's not it." after playing anything more than 3 notes in a row.

Let's elaborate:

I grew up reading a lot of manga. I loved so many titles that now if you were to ask "Which is your favorite manga?", the first thing that would come to my mind would be ... "Ah, crap ... gonna have to list them out ..." Now in my twenties, I started with Doraemon. Now I have grown to enjoy the seinen manga more. I am a fan of all of Mitsuru Adachi's work, if that is relevant to you ^_^.

Along side manga, I started watching Anime during my teens and have now, again, seen many. Still, manga >>> anime.

One of the current focuses of my life (beside career) is Ballroom Dancing. I am addicted to Samba, love the Rumba, flirt with the Cha Cha, enjoy the Jive and am wowed by the Paso Doble. At same time, I also like all the Standard dances. I am currently only a Bronze dancer, but one day I will be a Champion :)

Since Ballroom Dancing is only one of my focuses, I am currently practicing Uechi-ryu Karate. Not much to say about it but if you're also a Uechi-ryu practitioner then we have one thing in common :)

On my free time, I draw. My Anime drawings can be found at http://seravi.deviantart.com :P. I also cook ... and eat. I live to eat, not eat to live. My dream house must have a big kitchen and a gianomous pantry.

On my other free time, I have also tried knitting and sewing. Only knitted 7 scarfs and 25 bags so far.

I am on the way to finish Ph.D. I like being active. I like running, in particular long distance running. I also like hiking. I have hiked most of trails around Blacksburg.

Good conversation (especially when paired with fine music and excellent beer or beautiful surroundings) is my lifeblood. I think I'm a good listener, and I love long chats that range from dumb pop culture references to obscure anthropology to more existential subjects.

I recently started going to a UU church, and I like it. I have my own odd conglomeration of beliefs, though I don't feel like mine are Right and everybody else's are Wrong. I tend to attract atheists, which is kind of cool, because I've gotten to learn that atheism isn't just about an absence of faith but a presence of other things.

Oh! And bad grammar makes me really amused/grumpy. I keep a list of my favorite grammatical/word-usage errors from craigslist. ("Atlas, it will not work out...")

Good manners are important to me--I was raised to say "please" and "thank you," and I always notice things like whether a date offers to walk me back or just parts ways.

I really love learning new things. I can get monomaniacal about it sometimes, but I think that's part of the fun. Some of the times I feel most alive are when I have this new expanse of something to explore and learn all about.

Lets see....I am a grad student hopefully wrapping up in the fall. I am looking forward to taking back my life hm. I care about the world and those around me. I am a northern and proud of it ;) I have a dog, a horse, and love nature. btw I am not good at spelling I was told "You're a scientist and that is how you roll". I ran a half marathon two yrs ago, and am looking forward to heading back into that...long rd, but to me worth it because it makes me feel so good :). Besides the whole grad student thing I live a pretty boring life these days.

I like the outdoors and being outside. I like rideing dirt bikes and fourwheeling in my truck or my fourwheeler in the mud. I like dogs and cats. I am very easy to get along with. There is not much i dont like to do. I am a country boy.

Hmmm, I liked my old summary, but fuck it. Media has given us all shallow tastes in regards to other people (and even ourselves) and self-summaries have a tendency to draw out too many generic descriptions.
Who the fuck isn't quiet the first time you meet someone, aside from the few extraordinary people that are too involved with enjoying life to notice your own quiet presence.
If I'm quiet, for the most part, it's cause I don't really care :P.
I read great books, I watch very little TV, I play an assload of video games, I've got spider-bite piercings (for you fans of aesthetic pleasure), and I believe it doesn't require too much brain power to hold intelligent conversations.
I'm not bitter... but no matter what I type in a self summary, it will never feel like "me". So if none of the things above bother you very much, and I don't look *too* bad, message me. I'm courteous enough to give everyone a reply.

I've had a more or less great life so far - no drama, no incidents, no problems - and am living life happily.

I am a mom to three great kids. They are with me half of the time. I am open to meeting the right man for me and my children. I am a very passionate person, and need passion in a relationship. Honesty is vital. No relationship will thrive without respect and trust. I am new to this online dating thing. I have no interest in going out on the town looking for a man...I do have faith that the right man for me is out there...and hopefully I will find him this way!

I am lo0king for that special someone to hang out with. Or perhaps a partner to run away with and find new adventures. Life is what you make of it and I am always trying to find new things in order to keep it interesting.

A unicorn is that which is not found in nature, as in, I play video games, I dont care about football, I'm really kind of an amazingly well rounded and adjusted person. Generally this year I've been spending my "free time" doing math homework, playing call of duty, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and trying to take over the world.

I graduated from VT in 05, and I'm back again for some reason.. I have a bunch of friends in Blacksburg, but looking to meet some new people as well.

I don't really enjoy talking about myself, because I feel like it's as if I'm trying to sell myself or build some sort of ego up. Plus, people often say stupid things and bad things happen. I prefer to let my actions speak for me.

Still, I suppose this is a self summary after all. My name is Mike, or Mikey as my friends often call me. I like to see my self as a person who would be willing to help just about anyone. I'm easy going and accepting, but I'm not above standing up for my friends and what I believe in. I'm what one might call "shy", but only by the fact that I usually like to sit back and watch what occurs. I like to react to things rather than to make the first move, so I'll often just keep to myself. But, there are a few occasions where I will step up and take a chance. I'm pretty strong willed when if comes to things like ideals and "morals", but only in the aspect that I think everyone has a right to their own. I'm fairly outdoorsy and I'm real into camping and climbing, but as of right now I don't have a working climbing harness. I love to read, listen to music, and hang out. I know things like that get thrown around a lot, but it's very true for me at least. Most of my friends are what many might consider odd, but I've never been one to care about other people's opinions. Plus, I think they're alright, so what else matters. Re-reading this, I realize it doesn't really follow a flow, but I guess that's not really important here. Anyway, here it is, one part of who I am.

I am a Connecticut native and moved here for grad school. I enjoy going out and having a good time, kicking back and hanging out with friends, watching the olympics, and trying new things. I am very liberal and open. I like to cook and love to bake. I like to bowl, play racquetball, and go to the movies. Unfortunately being a student is time consuming and does not leave a lot of spare time to go out and and have fun so time management and a balance is very important.

Eh, this stuff is hard. It all ends up sounding banal and/or pretentious. I will say a big part of me is my music (particularly piano. That and the rest is best found through talking with me, though. I like romantic stuff up to the point of poetry. That's a little much (and I really don't get it :/) The geeky stuff like video games and random knowledge is fun, too. Also, science!! :D

In the meantime, I'm more often than not a quite content person, but believe me when I say I can make situations awkward. All comes from a ruthless level or sarcasm and bizarre humor ;3 I'm enjoyable to be around, so they say. I really don't like competition, I'm all for co-op. I can hold my own in just about any conversation, and I'm trying to be more open and honest in expressing my opinions.

And really, I am always freakishly warm. I'm great to have around in the cold, but my body heat literally keeps me up at night.

I don't think I'm the life of the party, but I certainly add some juice to it.

I never know what to say in these paragraphs, but I'll give it a shot. I'm intelligent, and value intelligence in a perspective partner. I very much do enjoy argument and debate, but I'm willing to agree to disagree at the end of the discussion. I *can* be convinced I'm wrong, though!

I have (or will have shortly, depending on when you read this) a degree in Geosciences from Virginia Tech, specializing in Earth Science Education. It's my intention to get a job teaching secondary science education (aka high school) somewhere nearby, but if I have to move, I will. I got into Geosciences because I've always been interested in the history of the Earth, paleontology, etc.

I'm also definitely a nerd! I'm into science fiction, anime, manga, and some video games. If my potential partner isn't in to that stuff, that's fine (though it would be a nice bonus), but she has to at least tolerate it, haha.
