I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I love going to movies and relaxing at home. I also love being active and hiking. I play and watch a variety of sports and keep things interesting all the time. There is no time for sitting around, so you may find me doing that pretty rarely.

I've always tended to fall flat on my face when it comes to introductions. I'm constantly learning new aspects to my life, and i hope to never lose that. I love intelligent conversation. I'm Nathan, born and raised in south-side Virginia, and a student at Virginia Tech. I guess I'm looking for just about anything. People in my area to go cause trouble with, grab a snack, or see a flick. I really am a rather laid back guy, taking problems as they come and go and trying not to make any concrete plans, preferring flexibility in any situation that can stand it. It takes a lot to bug or bother me in any real sense, so I tend to be a pretty happy guy most of the time as well. It also makes me want to joke or poke fun at people, but I do try to respect and learn boundaries first. Can't say that always works, but oh well.

Religion doesn't bother me. Grew up with christian teachings, and just slowly drifted away. Not trying to rebel, or seek out alternatives, I just figured there were bigger things to worry about. I figure I'm going to live my life, be a good person, be human and all that, and if I can't get into somewhere nice after I die, then I probably didn't want to be there. We're all imperfect, so it's no use trying not to be. Do your best, do your thing, and everything should fall into place. Enjoy life.

Now that I think about it, there probably is some religion that follows a creed similar to that. Maybe someone here knows what name I'm looking for.

But because of this view on life, nothing can get me down. I'm an optimistic. Things are never as bad as they could be. Even the most horrible experience could be made worse simply by adding a headache. and even then, I'm the guy with a bottle of Tylenol (the non-mold-smelling kind.

I am an African-American guy in college at the moment. I am very loyal and and will do anything to help my friends and family. I'm new at the online dating community, but it couldn't hurt to try. Right now I am a Masters Student at Virginia Tech in Aerospace Engineering. In my life I am very passionate about getting a job so that I can take care of myself and maybe a family in the future, and treating others right. One of the key aspects of me is balance. I strive to be a balanced individual in many ways of life. I like to look at all sides and hear all views before I decide on what I want. I make this decision by using a combination of my emotions, gut feeling, and logic. My emotions make sure I have a purpose for why I make a decision or do something, my gut tends to right about decisions, and my logic keeps my emotions and gut in check.

About me: Hmm...well i like to get out of the house and have fun. Go to local parks with my dogs. Small day hikes, but of course that requires a "partner in crime". Basically, I like to experience life to the fullest. Try out new experiences. New foods. New places around me. I am open to most anything that is legal, at least to give it a good shot. I am very nature -oriented but not an activist. I call myself a wanna-be tree hugger but it's not really accurate. More of a nature-attuned person. I feel very connected to the earth and all of it's living things. Plant *and* animal life. A lot of that is my intuitive nature- very sensitive to emotions and behavior around me in people and critters.

I am outspoken, blunt, straightforward. I can flirt and tease. In fact, love to tease and play around. But generally I'm not a silly giggly girl. Much more likely to give you my opinion and then let you do what you want with it.

I'd say I "think outside the box" but by saying that, well, aren't I being a cliche? LOL Let's just say I like to look at life a little differently. I am NOT one to do things the same way they've always been done or accept I can't do something just because no one has before.

My name is Jimmy. I'm an Engineering student at Virginia Tech. I'm 6'2" with short dark brown hair and blue eyes...too tall to be an astronaut (foiled again). I was born a California Raisin and lived in Livermore for the first 15 years of my life before my parents moved to northern Virginia. Not really sure what to say here. I'm only here to meet new people, and recently discovered that the love of my life was in front of my face the whole time. Sometimes it takes someone shoving there foot in their mouth to truly get things started.

I'm still in Blacksburg for the time being but I'll be moving to Richmond at the end of the summer. I hate filling out these types of open-ended summaries. So, I'll give the paper version of myself. I am a long-term undergraduate student, graduating this year with 4 degrees. I generally work a lot, and with classes don't have a lot of free time. When I am able to pick my own activities, I love hiking, rock climbing and bouldering, traveling any place new, biking, or almost any physical activity. I love trying new things and am fairly open to trying anything people suggest! I am a very active person, and get very bored cooped up indoors. My idea of a perfect day would be getting into my car with my dog and friends and driving in a direction stopping whenever i see something that looks like It needs to be visited.

My goals in life, after I figure out my job situation after graduation, are to travel to every country on my list, learn to play the violin again, become a professional rock climber, compete in the Iditarod, win a triathalon, bike across the U.S, Backpack across Europe, thru hike the A.T., become a doctor, get a degree in architecture, professionally publish my artwork, build my dream house with my own hands, learn to fly a plane and successfully invest in the stock market.

Honestly, I am pretty awesome. I can make or fix just about anything mechanical or electrical. I love a challenge, if something is crazy-difficult I cannot help myself but try it out. This really doesn't have much to do with me. They are ephemeral factoids, which do little to describe the person. Asking someone to describe themselves in a few paragraphs is like asking a blind man to describe the color of the mountains just before sunset, or a deaf man the sound of a symphony.

So what can I tell you here? I read voraciously. I give good back rubs. I like cooking for people, but hate washing the dishes afterwards. I love the shapes and sounds of words, and the way that some words are always funny no matter how many times you hear them. I love how language and meaning are fluid. I love the image of the sun rising over the mountains, and the crisp smell of the air while it is doing it. I am simple and complex. I love how my computer does exactly what I tell it to, even when that has nothing to do with what I want it to do. I am a grouch at times. I think too much, and do too little at times.

My name is Gallo. No it's not my first name, but it'd be cool if it were. I'm a laid back college kid who likes to write, watch movies, and hang with friends. I'm a big nerd and can normally carry on a conversation about comics, games, or anime (to an extent) without any trouble. Very rarely I go on tangents and it's hard to get me to stop. I've also been to a convention and plan to go to more. They're a lot more fun than people give them credit for. I'm relatively street and book smart. I like being outside, but I don't mind being inside either. I also don't mind on going on trips. Whether it be camping, another town, another country, etc. I just like seeing new sights and then people watch to see if they're different from my hometown. General consensus is that everyone elsewhere is better than my hometown. Excluding friends and family of course.

I'm easy going and accepting, but I'm not above standing up for my friends and what I believe in. Here's a hint of who i am: If you look closely enough at any detail of the way you live your life, you'll find a choice. Most of us aren't aware of most of them. I want to make as many conscious â?? and conscientious â?? choices as possible. Some consequences: I don't own a car. I write lengthy personal letters for special occasions â?? no "special occasion" cards. I vote-swapped in the '08 election, and my vote went to Cynthia McKinney. I only drink red wine and hard liquor. And i just started going barefoot.

Just a heads-up: I'm not what some would call a "girly-girl". I play video games, am against the color pink, and generally don't put make-up on unless it's lip gloss. I like to call myself a 'geeky redneck'. I'm a big gamer and a geek, but I grew up in a dinky rural town, so it's kind of in my blood. The high school I went to had spirit days like "drive your tractor to school day" and "camo day"... Fortunately, I've come a long way.

I will go ahead and admit that I play WoW. I manage to balance WoW with my schoolwork and socializing, so don't think I'm a shut-in with failing grades. Also: get horde or get lost.

I love animals; all dogs, cats, and horses especially. I really want to end up with a nice piece of land kind of out in the country so I can have a few horses and a lot of pets, and I suppose that's the country girl in me. I started horseback riding about a year ago and haven't been able to ride this semester and it's something that I really miss.

I am a very passionate and driven person, especially with my school work and my research.

I was born in Arkansas, and lived there until I was 14. I went to a boarding school in Chattanooga, Tennessee (Baylor School) for high school. I then went to UVA (University of Virginia) in Charlottesville, VA, and lived and worked in Charlottesville for another year after I graduated. I then moved to New Zealand, where I cleaned hostels, worked at a horse farm, and was a bartender (while working front desk at a hostel). Now I'm back in the USA living with my friend who is a vet student at Virginia Tech. My dog Savannah and I live with my friend, her two dogs, cat, and one betta fish.

My job can keep me very busy and leaves little time to meet new people. By day (and sometimes night), I'm an event planner and I love what I do. I'm kinda geeky with a pretty good sense of humor. I love to hike and travel. some of my most sublimely content moments in life have been out on some trail with beautiful weather. I travel to new places when i can, these days i'm taking more vacations and its that travelbug which has turned me into a shutterbug. this past year i have ramped up Photography as a serious hobby, its a great feeling when you get that great shot and its fun to share those pictures with fiends and family.

lately i seem to be rather busy i enjoy the off day where i just get to be a bum. hang around the house watch some movies and catch up on some gaming. I like to cook and am pretty decent and can usually whip up something good with what i have leftover in the fridge.

I don't care for sports. i know its rather strange coming from a guy but i just never got into sports. playing a round of football with friends is ok (ultimate Frisbee is better :-D ) but never cared for just watching the game. typically i take advantage of gameday weekends to do some hiking since the trails are usually empty

overall i'm a very easy going person , it takes a lot to get me riled up, there are simply more important things in life than drama.

I am looking to meet new people and expand my social network. I love making new friends and being social in almost any regard with them. If its something you enjoy doing, odds are I will too. I have been going to the new river a lot lately to sit on the rocks and ride the rapids. I do drink but mostly just in social settings and of course when we go Downtown to the bars. Personally, I am: 'forever 7'. A boy at heart.

Describing myself in 5 sentences:
I love reading manga and watching anime.
I love ballroom dancing.
I love cooking.
I practice Uechi-ryu Karate
I draw.

Let's elaborate:

I grew up reading a lot of manga. I loved so many titles that now if you were to ask "Which is your favorite manga?", the first thing that would come to my mind would be ... "Ah, crap ... gonna have to list them out ..." Now in my twenties, I started with Doraemon. Now I have grown to enjoy the seinen manga more. I am a fan of all of Mitsuru Adachi's work, if that is relevant to you ^_^.

Along side manga, I started watching Anime during my teens and have now, again, seen many. Still, manga >>> anime.

One of the current focuses of my life (beside career) is Ballroom Dancing. I am addicted to Samba, love the Rumba, flirt with the Cha Cha, enjoy the Jive and am wowed by the Paso Doble. At same time, I also like all the Standard dances. I am currently only a Bronze dancer, but one day I will be a Champion :)

Since Ballroom Dancing is only one of my focuses, I am currently practicing Uechi-ryu Karate. Not much to say about it but if you're also a Uechi-ryu practitioner then we have one thing in common :)

On my free time, I draw. My Anime drawings can be found at http://seravi.deviantart.com :P. I also cook ... and eat. I live to eat, not eat to live. My dream house must have a big kitchen and a gianomous pantry.

On my other free time, I have also tried knitting and sewing. Only knitted 7 scarfs and 25 bags so far.

Hey! I'm a student at Virginia Tech. I'm kinda busy and my friend signed up for this thing a few weeks ago, so now I'm trying it out.
I'm kinda tall. I like to travel, cook, read, ski, horseback riding, movies, and pets

I've always been interested in how the world works around me and I think that David Macaulay's How Things Work influenced how I tick. I think human interaction is also fascinating. It's why people love to watch sitcoms, reality shows, and documentaries.

I moved to virginia last Jan, and started my study in the field I am interested in very much. though I have a many good friends and classmates here but I feel I need to a close emotional relationship that could be a long term one or marriage.

I love to read in different field but I prefer family relations, psychology, religions and spirituality, cultures. I was a professional sport man and now I like to continue some practice beside of heavy graduate study.

I am a 22 year old student at Virginia Tech majoring in Soil Environmental Science. I plan to hopefully be employed with the natural resource conservation service or other similar agency upon graduation. I enjoy anything dealing with outdoors and sports. I play the guitar as well as the banjo :-P and enjoy learning new things everytime i pick them up. I also enjoy riding and working on cars/motorcycles.
My perfect match would first have to share in my belief in Jesus Christ. It is by his grace that we are given eternal life and a chance to glorify his name in all we do. She must also be active and like some kind of sport :-) Other than that, I'm very open to the possibilities. :-P

I tend to make people laugh with all different types of humor. I have left job interviews with the interviewers laughing (in a good way). I read all the time and have several degrees centered around this hobby. I am getting back into teaching and currently have a job teaching young children. I watch a lot of movies. I am not a fan of sports choosing to spend my time doing more artistic pursuits such as writing. I love animals and have two cats (cats are my favorite type of pet). I grew up around all types of animals such as cats, dogs, and hamsters.

I have a great deal of knowledge of several subjects such as movies and books. A good deal of my time has been spent studying these subjects.

About me: I eat as a form of recreation! I would consider myself to be very outdoorsy and athletic and I love meeting new people! Beyond that I'm big on road trips and music and really just about anything.

I am a mom to three great kids. They are with me half of the time. I am open to meeting the right man for me and my children. I am a very passionate person, and need passion in a relationship. Honesty is vital. No relationship will thrive without respect and trust. I am new to this online dating thing. I have no interest in going out on the town looking for a man...I do have faith that the right man for me is out there...and hopefully I will find him this way!

I'm Matt. I'm a tall, gangly, quiet nerd who's going to college for engineering. This is a mistake and you should not do this. Maybe I'll switch to film or some other useless major. Because there are lots of jobs there! I also think that I'm funny. Then again, lots of people don't care what I think. As in like, practically all of them. Six billion people, do the math. Wait, wait, I'm in engineering, so I guess I should be doing the math. Well actually a calculator should. I guess calculators don't make good dates, though. Even though they're good listeners. And it's easy to push all the right buttons.

I make comics occasionally, but they aren't all that great. I guess they're funny, but they're badly drawn. Let's be honest here.

Reading is a blast! I like classic novels! See the list for an in depth list of all the literary greats you had to read in high school! Music is da bomb! I even play the guitar a bit. A small bit. A, hey look everybody, I know 6 chords, bit! But not the kind of bit who tries to show you how they can totally play Stairway to Heaven, and then spend the next 4 hours saying "No wait, that's not it." after playing anything more than 3 notes in a row.

Video games are a great way to throw away your life! Take it from me! I would know!

Sports? But that involves sunlight and rapid movement! Frisbee and Tennis.

An active person that likes to test my physical limits. My test of choice has been the marathon, though I have dabbled in triathalons. I would like to attempt an iron man, maybe an ultra marathon and complete a marathon in all 50 states. I plan to attempt the aptly named mountains of misery 104 mile bike ride this May. I have fallen in love with travel, and like to explore new places. In the past year, I've been to Ireland, Yellowstone, Bar Harbour, Canada, Niagara falls, and Alaska. I've been lucky to visit three of our nations biggest parks in Denali, Yellowstone and Acadia. I'm realizing how much there is to see just in our country. I am a chef by profession. It allows me my creative outlet. I enjoy giving back. I'm a firm believer that you get out of this life what you put into it. It's been proven to me over the last 5 years.

I moved to blacksburg in 2005 and have lived here permanently (save for one summer) since then. I finished my undergrad in May of 09. I like to bike, snowboard, travel, and procrastinate.

I'm female, Asian, have medium length hair, I tan easily, keep a lot of journals, write a lot of stories (that I don't finish), and compile a lot of essays encompassing trivial aspects of life in an attempt to make them seem more meaningful.

I've always been a bit bicurious; not having my first real experience with it until last summer...it was really fun...until she showed her true colors...so perhaps I'll be able to find a girly who is truly awesome and not a total attention whore (or whore in general...sigh).

I'm bisexual but am only interested in women sexually...There's something about guys and procreating that truly determine my orientation.

I have a wonderful boyfriend, and I love him most of all. If I meet a girly here, you would have to promise that you wouldn't be interested at all in my boyfriend. I've tried the whole three thing...did not end well, ha! Other than that, I am a pretty open person.

I like people who can have abstract conversations that can both satisfy the mind and the "soul." I think I've only met two people who are capable of doing this.

I have a strong sense of an internal locus of control. I believe science is the foundation of reality, and there is no question to it (and if you do want to question it, you will get tangible answers! Imagine that!).

And I don't know why okcupid thinks I'm not artistic because I've been artistic all my life. Ask me for my art page if you are interested. However, I have no interest in "abstract" art. OkCupid always asks you about whether or not you care about art in the lights of something practical...well, the choice is obvious.

I'm willing to try anything within reason at least once in my life.

I really want to do new things and experience the little things in life. It would be awesome if I could find a friend who appreciates these same things.

I am a passionate learner, and I aspire to be an expert in anything that interests me. That will probably never happen, though, because I have a terrible memory, haha.
